Wolfpack Branding
My project stems from a speech that two-time Olympic gold medalist Abby Wambach gave at Barnard graduation last year. She compared women to little red riding hood and explained how women historically have been viewed as this character and are calling for a change. She wants women to be curious, to veer off the paths that they are told to stay on. Women should not be afraid of these wolves and that they are capable of taking on whatever the world throws at them.
One of her main points was that women need to hold each other up; they need to “champion” each other and celebrate each other’s successes. She uses her experience of being on the US Women’s National Team, to explain how all women should treat each other. This is what she called the “wolfpack,” coming from this idea of being together and leading for one another.
